My son just bought an older house with baseboard heat (oil furnace) and a central air ac system. There are several old thermostats some controlling one system and some both. The one we're trying to replace controls both heat and air. It has a white wire connected to W and a red wire connected to RH with a bridge wire to RC. Is this compatible with the E thermostat and if so what is the correct way to wire it. Thanks.

Hi there!
@BD333, thanks for posting in the community. I'll be more than glad to help you. It seems that your system is compatible, but I want to be sure about it.
In the meantime, you can take a look at the following article: Install Your Nest Thermostat. You will find a compatibility checker and also find videos about how to install the thermostat.
I’ll be waiting for your reply.
Regards,
Derick.

"Figured it out" only meant I found out how to send the pictures of the thermostat you requested. Sorry for the confusion - still looking for help on my original question.

Hi @,
I do apologize for the confusion too. Thanks for your reply and clarifying the situation about the thermostat compatibility. Yes, your system is compatible with the Nest thermostat E; the recommendation is to remove the bridge between the RH and RC terminals because the Nest Thermostats don’t need it.
If you need more information about installing a thermostat, you can see the following article: Install your Nest thermostat.
Please keep me posted if you have any other questions.
Best regards,
Derick.
