how do I connect these wires to nest thermostat
05-14-2023 06:00 AM
I only have red white blue and green wires in my house. My NEST has the following ports: Y, C, W, G, R, OB. I hooked my NEST up in the fall and the heat worked fine all winter, but the NEST is not recognizing my AC. Can you help ?

Google has a YouTube video (maybe even more than one) that shows you how. It's here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xlx2Um6D1Z8
There's plenty of other people, some of whom are electricians, that also have posted videos showing different types of existing thermostats and Nest models and how to connect them. CVheck them out. Good luck and have a great day!

Hi everyone,
Thanks for reaching out to us. I'd like to take a look at this for you.
@TL4, do you have already have the Nest Thermostat with you? If not, your heating-only system is only compatible to either the Nest Learning Thermostat 3rd generation. You can follow the image below on how you should connect your thermostat wires to the Nest Learning Thermostat base.
@gewheel, please help me with a photo of your previous thermostat wiring and a photo of how you connected the thermostat wires to Nest Thermostat base.
I appreciate your hwlp, @LJT1.
Best,
Zoe
