error when trying to add nest thermostat

I have reset the thermostat, wi-fi and phone multiply times and still get:

Something went wrong, We couldn't save your changes. Try again.

This was fine, but I had to get a new phone and in setting this back up it errored on one thermostat, we have 2 the other is fine. I deleted it from the app following those instructions and now cannot get it back.
