iPhone devise can no longer connect with my current nest thermostat

I've had a Nest Thermostat for 5 years. My iPhone was connected to it just fine. Yesterday, tried to connect and it wouldn't connect to my iPhone. My wife's iPhone still connects to it and works just fine, but mine will not. It wants me to sign back in, which I've done, but it says "wrong password or email". I've tried everything. Migrating to google. Still won't connect. It now wants me to "add devise". But when I go to the Thermostat settings, it says "done" and doesn't give me the 7 digit code. Please help.

If the thermostat is already setup, you don't need to and actually can't add to your app by using the first time setup steps. Did you setup the thermostat with your account or was it setup with your wife's account?

It was set up with my account.

Essentially, if you're not able to regain access to the account it was setup with (that you're signing into the app with), the quickest way to resolve this is to:

  1. Press the thermostat to open the quick view menu.
  2. Scroll to and tap Settings.
  3. Tap Reset.
  4. If you see Account connection, tap that. If not, tap All settings.

Once reset:

  1. On the Nest app home screen, tap the Settings cog.
  2. Tap Add product. The app will switch to a camera view to scan the thermostat’s QR code.
  3. On the thermostat, press it to open the quick view menu and tap the Settings cog.
  4. Turn the ring to select Nest app and press to open it.
  5. Select QR code. Your thermostat will show you a unique QR code to scan with the app. If it doesn't, tap Continue without scanning in the app and select Get entry key on your thermostat instead.
  6. Follow the remaining steps in the Nest app.

Hi David,

I had the same issue as cballard had.  I followed your instructions and got all the way into the app setup process until I got to "Where did you put this Thermostat?"  I selected Dining Room and then the app locked up and won't let me out of that screen so I close that screen and go back into the Nest App and and it tells me setup is incomplete.  When I click in Finish Setup it takes me back to Where did I put the Thermostat and it locks up again.  Now I'm not able to complete the app setup and my Thermostat won't let me use it until app setup is complete.  Any assistance with this would be appreciated!!  Thanks!

This is a re-post.......

Hi David or anyone in the know,

Are you using Android or iOS?
Are you using the latest version of Android or iOS your phone supports?
Are you using the latest version of the Nest app?
Have you tried removing the Nest app and re-installing it?
Have you tried turning off your phone and turning it on again?
Does it do the same thing if you try setup with a different phone or tablet, if you have one or can borrow one?
