I've been using the nest now for a full cooling season, and now the beginning of heat... it all works pretty well for me, but i of course have some grievances 🙂 all revolving around software:
besides not being able to adjust the hysteresis (sometimes called "swing temperature")
other annoyances --
several/many of the times are specified only in increments of 15 minutes (e.g. set fan timer, hold period, scheduled times).
the minimum time for a scheduled time is one hour.
the home software should allow anything that is logically possible, and not arbitrarily restrict the device... it's very easy to pick times down to the minute through a device; these are just arbitrary limits imposed by the home app.
There really ought to be a web interface (instead of only mobile device apps, i.e. google or apple)... I also just noticed there's a web interface at https://home.google.com/ that's only recently come out, but it only supports something to do with cameras, and nothing to do with thermostats. that's really bizaare, the thermostat comm / api is dead simple.

The web interface is at home.nest.com. At least, for my Learning model, that's how I control it.

right, for learning you can (still) do that (i do wonder for how long, though?)
but not for the not-learning thermo. (no web interface)

Hey EdPhx,
We appreciate your interest however; we don't have any news to share about a web-based control for Nest Thermostat and Nest Thermostat E. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback.
I also suggest that you send feedback by following this link. Let me know if you have other questions or concerns, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.
Best,
Mel
