I've tried connecting to USB but a pop up shows - return to wall unit
I do and the unit works but shortly (few hours) the red and green flashing lights reappear - what should I do?

Which Nest thermostat do you have?
How is it wired?
You need to charge it overnight when using a USB.

Hello
I wanted to stop by and see how I could help.
Thanks for asking for more information, @Patrick_Caezza.
@tfbertolami, in addition to what was asked above, are you getting any message codes or wiring reports upon seeing the LED lights flashing? Also, could you please gather your thermostat's power reading in the Technical Info settings?
I'll look forward to your response.
Regards,
Mark

Hi tfbertolami,
Do you happen to know if you have a C wire, or Nest Power Connector connected to the device? Are you able to check the power readings? Let me know, as I would be happy to assist you further.
Best regards,
Jake

not that I’m aware --- I compared the units we have and the one I’m having problems with has yellow, green, red and white wires. I don’t know how to check power readings.

also - I haven’t received any messages other than not enough battery to connect to internet and low battery

Hi tfbertolami,
Thanks for posting here in Community and I'm sorry to hear about the situation. To check for your ///Nest Thermostat’s power readings, simply open the Quick View menu by pressing the thermostat’s ring, then choose Settings. Turn the ring to highlight Technical Info then press the ring to select it and select Power.
I'll look forward to your response.
Thanks,
Zoe

Hi there,
Thanks for the follow up information. The ideal level for a battery is at least 3.7 V above. If the battery goes down to 3.7 V it will either give you a low battery message or it will shut down. Also, if your Nest Thermostat is experiencing a battery issue therefore, it will automatically disconnect to your network. What is the reading for LIN?
I appreciate your help, @Patrick_Caezza, Mark, Jake and Zoe.
Best,
Jenelyn

There was no number for that.. I gave you the figures …
how do we replace the battery ?
05-13-2023 04:02 PM
Hello tfbertolami,
Thanks for getting back to us. There's no option for Nest Learning Thermostat to have its battery replaced as we only recommend our customers to charge it with the use of a micro-USB cable. If by any chance, that your Nest Learning Thermostat Technical Info shows no voltage, then it could be an issue with the power that your device is getting from the HVAC unit that causes the situation.
To check more on this, can you fill out what you see under Technical Info’s Power on your Nest Learning Thermostat?

Zoe
