not wirelessly connecting, and no hot water

I have just installed another 3rd gen nest thermostat (for a friend, ive already successfully installed two in my own house) it's connected on a Y plan, and I have carefully followed the Y plan wiring diagram  (as before in my house) and all is correctly wired up, but...

...The thermostat wont connect wirelessly (only wired) I pressed the button for 20 seconds until the blue light flashes quickly, but the thermostat just keeps showing a circular motion trying to connect, then eventually saying not connected, so as a last resort i chose wired connection (i assume this is the same wire that powers the thermostat from the heatlink hub.

So now it's wired connected, I can turn the heating on and off by setting the temp, but if I go to boost for hot water, I get an orange water drop symbol on the thermostat, but no light on the heatlink (apart from the small yellow/green dot on the very top. So the heatlink is not switching the hot water on.

What could be wrong?

Hey @Martin68,

Thanks for reaching out. Sounds like the thermostat is connected wired only and is working as expected. You will only see one green LED on the Heat Link. This won't change if you turn on your heating or hot water. Is everything ok otherwise?
