phone control when away

When I was on the way home I turned up thermostat but it never turned orange until I arrived home.  Does my thermostat not listen to my phone or doesn't trust my phone via Internet?

Thanks for reaching out and sorry for the delay. 

Your Nest thermostat should be able to do any preset or temperature you set it to regardless if the mobile device you're controlling it with is connected to a home Wi-Fi network, mobile data or office W-Fi. Quick question — were you able to successfully use this feature before? Did you just manually set the temperature via your Nest app or did you use the Early-On feature?
