replacing Aprilaire 8463 with Nest Thermostat

Attempting to replace my Aprilaire 8463 thermostat with a Nest Thermostat. However, the app is telling me my system is not compatible. There was also a jumper connecting the RC and R connections as seen in the bottom photo. Can I make this work or is this simply not compatible? I do not have a heat pump.

Nest Thermostats don't use jumper wires, so don't enter that into the app, and it will likely tell you it's compatible. They actually have an internal jumper wire, and it will use that if you system needs it.

I notice you don't have a C (common) wire. Nest thermostats are designed to work without a common wire in most homes. However, during installation, a small number of customers do find that the Nest Thermostat does not receive sufficient power. The Nest Power Connector or a C wire may be necessary. See g.co/nest/cwire for details.

Thanks for your response. Setup is complete. I am getting the message below which I believe is the common wire issue you mentioned. Appears the thermostat is working fine, but is not stable for wifi/app use.PXL_20230924_213139484.jpg

That's right, the thermostat isn't getting any power from your HVAC system.

Thanks again, I will install the Nest Power Connector to resolve this issue.

Update: When taking a look at my photos posted before, I have a white wire tucked in the wall. I also noticed the wire not attached to the furnace. Can this wire be used as the C wire.

I'd strongly recommend contacting a local Nest Pro or a local HVAC technician as they are best placed to advise.
