if 3rd generation nest shows 24 v power on wires before connection but shows no power and voc and vin 0.02 vin 8 ma, is the issue thermostat or its base?  All connections appear appropriate.  Thanks

I had this same issue twice this year out of the blue.  I swapped the RC wire to RH and then the next time it happened I swapped them back.  Both times it worked and I don’t know why.  I checked every wire for rodent chewing, I swapped the thermostat under warranty, and swapped it with two other NESTs in the house and those worked fine.  I can’t explain it.

Hey folks,

I appreciate your suggestion here, R6pilot.

jim28, sorry for the delay but thanks for reaching out. Have you had the chance to try what R6pilot had suggested above? If yes, but to no avail, it could be possible that the issue is on the base, the actual wire from the base to your HVAC's control board, or the display itself. We need to do further troubleshooting to isolate the cause.
