temporary setting

I have my Nest Thermostat set up on a daily schedule. However when my wife cleans the house she wants the temperature turned way down. On my old thermostat I could turn down the temp and put on hold until we wanted it set back to normal. Then we would select Run Program,  I can't find a similar way of doing this on my Nest Learning thermostat.

You can do a "permanent hold" using Eco mode.  In Settings, set your Eco temperature to whatever your wife likes for cleaning.  Then, whenever she wants the heat off, she puts the Nest in Eco mode.  To get it back on schedule, turn off Eco mode  --  the equivalent of "run program".

Or you can just twirl the dial to the desired lower temperature.  It will stay there until whatever the next change time is in your heating schedule, and then it will go back onto the schedule.  (Of course, this is "temporary hold".)
