heater blows cold air

I live in an apartment. I wired the thermostat correctly so i thought. I have the extra orange wire that when plugged in and set to heat, the heater blows cold. When orange wire is unplugged, the heart blows hot but the cold doesn't blow cold.

Why can't I talk to a person???????

I want a WIFI controlled thermostat without a 3rd wire. NEST told me I needed Gen 3. My electrician told me it won't work without the 3rd wire.Why can't I talk to a person???? This is a sales issue/technical issue. your website doesn't help me.
