I have recharged for 2 hours my 3rd generation nest thermostat and still light is blinking while charging.
When I put it back to base and its shutting down by saying "thermostat needs to shut down to recharge its battery"
Any idea what's going on? How do i know it battery is completely dead?
or how do I forcestart it ?

This week I have the same problem with my nest 3rd Gen thermostat after 3 months of use. The technicians try everything but same message persists then they must change the thermostat to 4th generation.
