I keep getting a message every month or so that says my batteries are very weak. At first I replaced the batteries over and over and the problem would go away. Then I discovered that the batteries the nest was saying were weak tested out as new batteries. The saga continues that once a month I have to pull the face plate away from the base. When I do this the message does not appear for approx one month. This is getting to be a hassle, how can this issue be remedied? Thanks in advance.

The absolute easiest way to make that problem go away, is to activate a Power Common wire. You could do this using a nest, power, adapter, or if you have a spare wire, that’s not being used in your thermostat cable, you need to connect that spare wire to the C terminal in your nest thermostat, and then make sure it’s connected to the C terminal and your HVAC equipment.
