Hi,
I searched online and ended up calling Google/Nest customer service, but even they did not give me the correct information. So, I'm creating this thread just so that if someone is trying to do the same, they have a thread they can find online to get the answer.
Issue was:
I created a new 'home' or 'location' on the Nest and added a couple of Nest thermostats at this 2nd location. I needed to add other people to this 'location' so that they could have access to the devices at this 2nd location. However, I did not want them to be able to see any of my devices at my 1st 'home/location'. What got me confused was it said to add a 'family' member, and the warning they give you is something like this new user can see and has access to all of your devices. They leave out or don't say "at this location". I assumed that they would be able to see all of my devices at all locations.
Answer:
Whichever location you add people to, they cannot see devices at the other locations. Just because it says add to the family, this does not add to your other locations' family, only to the family related to this one location that you are adding from.
Family members can only be added on the Google Home App and not on the Nest App.
