I had nest learning thermostat for couple of years but it's shutting down frequently with battery issues.

This is indeed an odd one. The nest thermostat has a 3.5 V rechargeable battery and it looks like your battery is at 90% charged. Additionally the charging circuit excepts the voltage in from the HVAC equipment cleans up that power and pushes it up to approximately 30 V to charge the battery and in your case that part is normal as well and the current along the common line is approximate 200 mA and yours is there as well. This would like to make me feel like you have a defective battery in your thermostat that is no longer taking a charge. Tell me, how old is that third generation learning thermostat you have?

it's about 1.5 years old.

Well, that is indeed puzzling. Has anyone service your HVAC system recently?

Yes. My HVAC is only 1 year old.

Hi folks,
@CoolingWizard, thanks for the help!
@kspraneeth, thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. To isolate the issue, could you try charging your Nest Thermostat's display for at least an hour using a USB cable and check if the battery is still going to drain?
Thanks,
Edward
