2 Primary Wifi Points

Steviekit

Is it possible to have 2 (or more) Primary Wifi points?

I currently have 1 Primary point connected to my router and the other Google meshs connect wireless to this Primary Wifi point.

But I now want to plug an additional 2 Primary Wifi points into my main router and send them separately (via hardwired ethernet cables) to my outbuilding (one going to downstairs and the other upstairs of the outbuilding).

Thanks in advance

Nest Wifi routers can also be used as secondaries, either wirelessly or by wire/ ethernet.

For wired backhaul ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7215624?hl=en ), the recommendation is to avoid daisy chaining by adding an unmanaged switch to the primary/ main/ master puck LAN port:

Then connect any secondary pucks to that switch directly.

Hey folks,

Apologies to all those trying to help, but I did originally see the articles people have referred to and was none the wiser, hence posting here.
I also don’t understand terminally like backhaul, switch, daisy chain….sorry.

I presume if it is possible then I would have to unplug (from the power socket) all my already connected Google wifi points and the primary google wifi connected to my router.

Then plug my new Google wifi into the router and set up a new home in my Google Home app. If someone can tell me whether this would work yes or no…then I’d appreciate it. If it’s a “no” what steps in plain English I would need to take please.

Thanks

Don't disconnect anything. Connect your new puck to power, wait until it pulses white slowly.

Then open the Google Home app, make sure your in the home (in the app) where your existing network exist. Then add a new point like these instructions say, "Add a point or an additional router":

If you are using an iPhone or iPad for the setup, make sure you have no VPN enabled/ connected; not any 3rd party product, nor the "Apple iCloud Private Relay" ( https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212614 ). Also make sure the Google Home app has been granted permission for "local network access" ( https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/7172427?hl=en ).

One more thing to try if it fails: IPv6 on Nest Wifi has caused strange problems lately. One thing to try is to disable IPv6 ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6361450?hl=en ), add new Nest Wifi unit, then leave IPv6 off or enable it again.

If it still does not work, despite all this: Are you sure all your pucks, existing and the new one, are bought for the same region/ country? Mixing won't work due to differences in Wi-Fi regulations; frequencies and signal strength.
