2nd Nest Router: unable to join the network setupxxx.ybd

Hi! I have a Nest router, and I bought a 2rd Nest router to extend coverage and I cannot connect it to my existing Home.

When I try to set up the new router (as a nest wifi point) using Google Home, it takes me all the way through the setup process, recognizes the device, lets me scan the QR code in, and asks me the following: "Google Home wants to join Wi-Fi network setupxxx.ybd". This is the network which is printed on the bottom of the new router (not my Home....). It then tells me:  "unable to join the network setup:xxx.ybd?" ........ I understand that this is wrong, it should be asking to join my home, not it's own internal setup network.

It is either not recognizing my existing wifi Home for some reason, and/or not allowing itself to be recognized as an additional "point" rather than a router. I've factory reset everything, re-started my Home, tried Google home app on a different phone,  I really don't know what else to try! Maybe it's worth mentioning: My current Nest Router and points are bought in the US. In meanwhile I moved to the Netherlands (Europe) and the 2nd Nest Router I am trying to connect is bought in The Netherlands.

Would appreciate some help! Thanks in advance!

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!!!!

Try resetting I am pretty sure my second router did that too. I bought multiple packages because it was the best deal. I have a third one I will install to tie in my old network. I think I had to rest a couple times.

Hi, MaartenL.

Sorry to hear about the setup issues you're going through. With mixed regions, it might be a good idea to contact support directly and they can take a closer look at your hardware and they can walk you through this. I don't know if you would be having compatibility issues, but they can tell you for sure. Here's how to contact support: https://bit.ly/3o1aRK5.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks.
