Adding google wifi point to existing network

RS12

I have a google wifi mesh network with 1 primary and 2 additional points. I want to add a fourth point. The Google home app asks me to connect the new point to one of the existing points via ethernet cable, which i did. But then it is asking me to create a new network name and password. I dont want a new network, I just want to set up another point so the mesh network will reach new part of the house. How do I do that?

Since iOS is mentioned, see the following for some common setup problems:

Do you see your existing network in the Google Home app? If not, you must make that happen first. Else you have no existing network to add an addirional point to.

I don't work for Google.
