This morning, my wife complained of connectivity issues on her iPhone and MacBook. While no other devices seemed to be impacted, I did notice something odd about the network usage.
When I look at the wifi reporting for data usage, I'm showing certain devices (two iPhones and a MacBook Pro) using exorbitant amounts of data, even when devices are supposedly idle. My iPhone, for example, shows 750+GB of data downloaded in one day. These huge spikes in data are worrisome if real. I put a third-party data usage monitor on my wife's iPhone, however, and the reports don't line up. In the Google Home app, the wifi data usage in the 8pm hour was 6GB downloaded, but the third-party app showed only 150mb since 7:30pm. One of them is wrong, or the data is passing through the router but not the device itself.
I've spoken with Google support, Apple support, and my ISP (Spectrum), and no one has any thoughts. Unfortunately, it's not possible to monitor what processes are behind network traffic when it's not cellular on Apple products.
Any recommendations or ideas are appreciated.

No problem, infinitelibrary.
I am still waiting for word, but I imagine the holiday is slowing down communication a bit. I'll let you know if there's more info I need or if I hear more on this soon.
Thanks,
