Can I add ac2200 mesh wifi to my current nest h2d network?

We’d like to extend our current network, the ac2200 is on sale and was wondering if this would work?

Yes you can.

The best would be to use the AC2200 as the master/ main node, as it has more powerfull hardware and faster Wi-Fi. But that requires a factory reset of your existing network and setting it up from scratch.

One thing to be beware of ( https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9548301?hl=en ) :

  • "Note: It's strongly recommended to purchase Nest Wifi from the country where you'll be using it. Since wireless regulations vary by country, you may experience compatibility issues if you move your Wifi device(s) to a different country and Google will be unable to offer support. If you're setting up a mesh network, it's recommended to purchase all of your Wifi points in the same country."

I don't work for Google.
