Can't configure Google Nest Access point after moving house

attaatta

Hi,

I recently moved within Switzerland (from German to French part of the country).

I have bought in 2020 a Google Nest Router + Access Point from a Swiss shop (https://www.digitec.ch/fr/s1/product/google-routeur-et-point-dacces-wifi-routeurs-12509308?supplier=...).

After moving, the router works well (I can connect to it's wifi) but my Access Point cannot be configured to connect to the router. It shows an error about the point not being build for the country I'm in.

Upon reading on the internet, I find that the router country code is "DE" (from checking http://192.168.86.1/api/v1/status).

I'm not sure if/how I should also check the country code of the access point.

Any help is appreciated.

I realized that if my Google Nest router is disconnected I have the option to connect my Access Point directly to my ISP router. When doing this I see that the Access Point country is also DE, which makes me confused that I was having those error messages.

At least now I have the google assistant functionality (but no wifi extension).

Are you connected to VPN on the phone you are using for setting this up with the Google Home app? That won't work.

Have you factory reset the Nest Wifi add-on point so it's ready for adoption?

What's in front of the main/ master Nest Wifi router, could it be that you are running double NAT/ modem not in bridge mode?

I don't work for Google.

Thank you for your answer olavbr, i had indeed reset both devices and tried bridge mode too pepper prior to asking the question and it didn't help. Given that at the moment  i only need the Google assistant functionality and not the router i will not retry right now. Thanks again for your help.
