Cannot remove Google Wifi Point From app

MrDude
Community Member

to summarize, I have the exact same

problem as stated here: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Cannot-remove-Google-Wifi-Point/m-p/74754/thread-id...

The proposed solution won’t work because the device is “offline” - it not part of the mesh. So when you’d the device tile it takes you to a different screen if you click the gear then it fails, if you click the 3 dots doesn’t show anything helpful.

added some additional screen shots here:https://imgur.com/a/9eGZwSN

any suggestions?

Hey @MrDude .

This article walks you through the steps on how to remove the device from the app even if it is offline:

Remove Google Nest devices from the Google Home app

At the bottom of this article, it tells you how to factory reset the device using the reset button on the device:

Factory reset your Wifi device

And just FYI, Google does not recommend having more than 5 devices in the mesh network as it can cause bandwidth issues: How many Nest Wifi Pro, Nest Wifi, or Google Wifi routers or points do I need?

Hey folks,

Thanks for lending a hand, @PatrickP_Viking.
