Change google wifi ssid

Hi,

I need to change the name of my google wifi network. The only instructions i can find online do not work - they seem to relate to an old version of the Home app?  Any suggestions how i can do this on the new app?

Thanks

Hi @Innocenzionale

This still can be done with the Google Home app.

If your wifi is configured within the Home App --> Wi-Fi at the top --> Network settings.

Do you see your Nest Wifi device within the Google Home app?

Hello everyone,

@RXShorty, we appreciate your help.

@Innocenzionale, thanks for reaching out. I just want to check if you were able to change your Wi-Fi SSID using the steps provided above. Let me know if that did the trick or not, so we can try something else.

Best regards,
Lovely

Hi, thanks for the help. I couldn't see the WiFi at all in the Home app. And I couldn't add it as a device... but all my devices in the App were connected to the WiFi.

I took a chance on re-setting the WiFi to factory settings and setup from scratch, that worked. Frustrating way to waste a couple of hours having to reconnect all my devices as a result of the Home App update! I can now see it in the App

Hi Innocenzionale,

This certainly hasn't been easy on you. We'll take this as feedback and hope to improve this experience in the future. It'll be much appreciated if you can share your experience with the Google Home app update with our product team. Check out this link for the steps.

Since your Google Wifi is already back up and running after the reset, I'll go ahead and close this thread in the next 24 hours. If you have further concerns or questions in the future, please feel free to create a new post.

Cheers,
Lovely
