Hi I would like to connect a USB drive to the Lan Port of a Google wifi to serve as a network drive? Will a a USB ethernet adapter work? Do I have to power the UB drive?

Not possible. You should look into getting a NAS (network attached storage), or dedicate a old computer for this task.

Thank you. I was hoping it was possible as I was looking for a low cost solution. Will look into a low cost Nas solution. Any suggestions like a pi or raspberry computer? Thank you again

Hmm, maybe buy a used Synology or QNAP that is still supported? But if you like tinkering:

Hi, Ramonea.
I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw olavrb's last suggestion and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping.
Thanks.
