Hi All,
Have Google Home with router and three assistant/wifi pods for couple of years and most of it works well. I have one issue that can not seem to resolve. When I connect the Google Home Router's Ethernet LAN port, after some amount of time (could be days or couple of weeks) all of sudden the system fails (I get the color change on the pods saying lost connection). I verify that the Internet is up, tried all of the normal power cycling, etc but nothing works. I have pull the LAN port and even then seems to take a bit before the WiFi comes back up. For now have been connecting all my devices by WiFi but have some units that need Ethernet and would like them connected to the one LAN network.
Any ideas what can be causing this problem?

What do you connect to the LAN port? A switch? A device? Multiple devices behind a switch?

Hi,
I had a switch connected to the LAN port. There were a couple of devices connected to that switch (a NAS box and a DVR) and then two or three other switches connected to that switch where the other devices on the home network were connected. When the problem happened, I never saw activity on the ports that would lead me to think there was a layer 2 broadcast storm or such. I also tried removing the second layer of switches as well as rebooting and replacing the switch connected to the Google router and no change.

What switches, are any of them managed or with anti looping features like STP (spanning tree protocol)?

there were simple unmanaged switches. There was no spanning tree service and no spit paths that could have caused a loop. As I mentioned earlier, none of the link ports were blinking to indicate any broadcast storms. Also, I did try once to disconnect all but one of the switches and saw the same problem.

Still no answer on the problem. As long as the LAN Ethernet is not connected the system works but this is causing other problems with devices that do not have Wi-Fi.
