Google Mesh Not working

JG2022

We lost power due to a storm. When I restarted the network, everything appeared to be working. But then some of my IoT devices started giving me issues. I opened the Google home app. Ran a speed test and a network test. All looked good. But the router keeps saying it's offline. Checked that the IPv6 wasn't turned on during the reset. All good there. I can connect to the internet on my laptop without issues but none of the IoT devices can connect. Tried restarting my network and restoring the network to the factory settings without success. I am at a loss for what it could be. Any suggestions?

Hi JG2022,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Google Wifi. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What's the light status of your Google Wifi router?
  • Does your Google Wifi router appear offline after the reset?
  • Could you check if the affected IoT devices only support 2.4 GHz band?

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

Hi Jeff,

I am still having lots of issues. Wifi works for a little and then it totally freezes. You have to log off the wifi and then reconnect. Someone recommended changing the IP or DHCP assignment but not sure how to do that.

Hi JG2022,

DHCP reservations or static IPs can help with problematic devices, for sure. Here's an article explaining the process for setting that up: https://goo.gle/2VlpJpg. If you give that a try and are still stuck, please let us know.

Thanks,

Jeff
