About 30 minutes ago I lost "connection" notification on my Google Nest Router and Points.
They are functioning fine and I can connect to the wifi network on PC, iOS and Android.
However they all indicate in the HOME App (iOS and Android) that there is no Connection. For example, can not run speed test. Yet they are functioning as normal.
I have restarted the points and router. I have restarted the App. I have checked the HOME App on mulitple (9 iOS devices and 3 Android devices) and the issue is identical.
Is there a "back end" at Google to which the Apps talk too that could be causing the HOME App issue?
This is very odd and I have never encountered this issue before.
It is not preventing normal operation at my home/work but simply not allowing me to use the iOS or Android App to manage anything on the network.
I actually have two Google Nest WifI networks running here. One for WORK and One for HOME - both on different ISPs. Both have the identical problem.
I have tried deleting and re-installing the HOME App but it does not fix the problem. Says Router and Points Offline - but they are delivering connection and camera feeds
No Internet Connection - but I am connected
Speed test works

Seeing the same thing in the last hour. I have been getting occasional wifi/internet drop outs (real ones) over the last couple days which confused matters. But restarted all points (nest router and 2 original Google wifi points) and the network is running, but everything is saying the router and points are all offline, even when I connect to them and look at their config details!

It is extremely odd.
There doesn't seem to have been a recent update in the HOME software that could change it. I can only think it is something to do with the router "talking" back to a base Google server and that is causing the error. I run a remote HOME for family but that hasn't been affected (yet). Only the two networks running here. My HOME and WORK (on separate ISPs) networks.
I should say I can also view all my Nest Camera's (7 of them) despite the app indicating there are no connected devices.

Only my wifi points/router appear as offline in the Home so. All my lights, Chromecasts and other smart devices are fine. Same for you?
Where are you located/ISP? I'm in Australia
04-20-2022 08:44 PM
Hi Colin
I am in Australia too (Richmond, Victoria). My two ISPs are Vodafone (NBN,fttc) and Optus (4G Wireless)
Just checked and my lights, chromecasts, cameras, all smart devices (I have too many) all seem to be ok. Notifications on cameras are working too.
It does just seem to be the points/router appearing "offline".

I'm in Sydney, ABB. So it's not ISP. It's possible Google are having a peering point problem with their backhaul connections, so it's affecting Australia
04-20-2022 10:11 PM
I'm having the same issue in Singapore, maybe its affecting the region.

I've been having this issue as well, the internet still seems to be available but the router and mesh appear unavailable on the app. I've already done a complete factory reset and contacted my ISP which is Singaporean (who effectively told me to contact Google as they have no issue on their end). My mesh hasn't been able to connect to the app at all since the factory reset, scared of doing another and being completely stuck without wifi connection.

Well there does seem to be something at Google's end. I am not going to fiddle around any more in case I lose everything. Hopefully it will resolve soon.

I am having the same exact issue here. I'm from Sydney, Australia... Google Home app is showing the "network is offline" and that my nest router / wifi point are offline too, but my internet connection for both wired and wireless appears to be working fine. Both my nest router and wifi point got the new firmware updates few days ago and was working fine until today where it is showing as "offline" on the Google Home app.
04-20-2022 10:38 PM
Same here in Canberra and I have tried restarting and reset the router and points, still showing offline but the internet is working fine. I can still use the doorbell, playing music on the points and all the nest cameras even though the Google Home app says "no internet connection".
I am sure the firmware is up to date and I haven't changed any setting.
Read some other threads and seems the routers and points have been acting up and actually dropped off the connection and which is more frustrating.

Same issue here today in Perth. ABB as well and tested and reset at ABB isp and working fine. Home app shows nest wifi offline but internet is actually connected

Same issue here - Syndey Based. Network working fine, but google home app all showing them as offline. I stupidly reset my whole network and have only been able to get 2 of them back up in between them showing as online. What ever you do dont reset your network. You'll never get it back up without the app.

This issue is happening for me in NZ too - started today 22/4. The app says my network is "off line" but I have normal internet connection. I have three wifi points. One went "off." The app notified me. Then all 3 show on the app as "offline" . I too was worried I had done something wrong trying to fix / reset the one that stopped first. Now a different is showing back online and yet my network is apparently still "off line" which makes no sense. It must be a glitch on the app, rather than my ISP. It would be good if Google owned up to this and gave a timeline for a fix/ resolution pathway.

Happened exactly the same today and now both routers and points appear offline but the internet and other connected devices work fine.

Major issues here in NE Vic today. Spent 2 hours trouble shooting followed by 3 hours on the phone to my isp resetting everything… multiple times. Finally up and running this evening.
04-21-2022 07:31 AM
Have the exact same problem in Northern Victoria. I have had this problem once before(3 months ago) and I ended up factory resetting everything and it worked again. I'm really trying to avoid doing that again and hoping it will resolve itself in a few days.
04-21-2022 12:50 PM
I had to do a factory reset using the button on the unit last night, and initially the network all looked good again. Speedtest and mesh test worked fine, then this morning the issue is back. So don't bother factory resetting them.
04-21-2022 12:49 PM
Same here in NZ. I manually factory reset my 3 units yesterday using the button on the unit because I couldn't do it through the app and thought something had gone wrong with the units. Immediately after setting them up again everything looked fine, but this morning the problem has come back. Internet access is fine, it's just not possible to manage the network.

Hi all. Original poster here. Woke up this morning and the issue is still the same with a minor and odd difference. I can now run a speed test on one of my Nest networks although it now doesn’t show at all as being a router or point. This situation is completely strange. Hearing people trying to reset entire network and running into problems so I will not be doin that. Just waiting I guess.
04-21-2022 04:33 PM
Yep. No service here this morning. Back now, mesh test done an all perfect.
04-21-2022 04:39 PM
Thanks for the update. Hopefully Google will get on it and sort this out. But from what I read from a different thread, I am not holding my breath.
04-21-2022 04:47 PM
Still down here in my end. It's crazy, my wifi speakers work and everything, but Google home just says nope.
04-21-2022 06:14 PM
Try a System reset.

Just wondering, or maybe I'm being paranoid... Not a techno so not sure if possible. Could this maybe be some sort of sophisticated hack whereby some maleficent gets access to all out networks (and perhaps also our devices connecting through our network) via the Google Home app. Because, of course, while it is disabled for us (but still working) we can't change the network password (which is stored in the app) because that needs us to be able to get access to the network.... which this glitch prevents?

Original poster here. Tonight 23/4 AEST time my Nest problem magically and without intervention from me resolved. Seems to be back to normal.
edit: I take it back. It is almost resolved. Still can not run mesh test
04-23-2022 01:11 AM
Good for you. I'm still off line in app.... All very odd!
04-23-2022 01:32 AM
Taking most of it back now. After appearing to be resolved the same problems have just reappeared. I decided to restart the network to confirm it was ok. It wasn’t. Same issues exists
04-26-2022 04:32 PM
I have been in touch with Google support, and apparently their Devs are working on a fix, although I'm not holding my breath. I still can't manage our router
04-26-2022 04:42 PM
Thank you for the update. Glad Google support replied. I didn’t get one 😉
04-26-2022 05:31 PM
Thanks. Good to know. Like @rodneycruise I have not had any response from Google Support......🤔

And Bang! 7.45pmn AEST a series of Nest points and Router offline messages start popping up again on my phone. It had marginally improved a couple of days ago but again it is now a complete mess of offline points and routers. Happened across 3 separate systems across to locations in Melbourne. Still have internet but functionality is stuffed even more. I wonder did Google just try to push a fix which didn’t work?
04-28-2022 05:13 AM
Same, 6:45pm and besides the main connected point the rest are all appearing offline again.
04-28-2022 04:37 PM
Ours are the opposite. The router is offline, but our 2 WiFi points are online and we're unable to manage any of the network. I truly hope this isn't permanent behaviour and Google are no long supporting the Nest
04-28-2022 03:21 AM
Dunno, nothing changed on mine. Still all offline. Nothing to do but just wait until they fix it sigh
04-28-2022 05:08 PM
So I have the problem with my system also. 1st 1 point went out then the next day the router and the 1 point were out but the 3rd was still on. Sill had perfect internet. So all I did was switch off the router at the wall for about 15 seconds and switched it back on again and once booted it up opened up the google home app and did a mesh test and the router was connected again. I did the same process with the point about an hour later and now 2 points and the router are all good again. Don't know if this will work for anyone else but it did for me.
04-28-2022 06:18 PM
Hi bjo740 - I have done this several time with mixed results. It never fully comes back to normal but often a point will become "online" - the routers have never come back to "online". In any case it doesn't seem to last because within a short space of a few hours the points start switching to "offline" again. I still have full internet access via my Nest Networks (I have 3 across 2 premises) but I can not utilised the HOME app function of SpeedTest (mostly), MeshTest or other functions. All my Google Nest cameras still work as do my Alexa and Homekit equipment.
Patiently waiting for a fix 🙂

Hi, everyone.
A new firmware release was recently pushed out. Some of you might have seen immediate improvement from that. If you haven't, it's a good time to give your network a quick power cycle to make sure that all updates and settings are in place. If you're still seeing the same problems after a restart, please let me know here.
Thanks.

I'm happy to hear things are working for you NZDOC. Thanks for letting us know. Hopefully others are seeing the update improve things as well.
Thanks.

Hi, caoimhe.
I just wanted to check in and see if things were still working for you. If you've seen any issues, just let us know.
Thanks!
