Hi,

Google nest WiFi can’t connect to some pages/services (always the same few) and already tried a few things:

Disabled / Enabled IPv6

Enabled / Disabled Famui Wifi

Tried to add different DNSs (ISPs, 8.8.8.8, 1.1.1.1)

Nothing worked. Still some pages doesn't load over google nest wifi, like amazon, netflix, social media pages, HBOMax, etc, not on any devices. Yet these pages work on another wifi in the house or cellular of course. My guess, that this is NAT related (how google nest wifi does NAT) and might be some security feature coming from these pages, but not sure. Other WiFi on the same network has no issues.

Any suggestions or could the technical support pick this up?

Sounds like you are running double NAT? I'd try to avoid that.

If you don't want or can't set your ISP equipment in bridge mode, it could help to set the LAN IP of the ISP modem/ router as the primary DNS in Nest Wifi.

  • Say the ISP modem/ router network is 192.168.1.1-255, with gateway IP of 192.168.1.1. Then set Nest Wifi custom DNS to 192.168.1.1 and some other public DNS, like 1.1.1.1.

I don't work for Google.

Hi, for me the DNS server change helped. Tried also to put the nest router to bridge setup (fixed up on wan interface, etc), but interestingly couldn’t detect the problem offline mode to change it
