Hi all,
Pulling my hair out here. I am technologically inept but have a Google Nest Wifi system with 7 points, a Home and Nest heating system. It has been absolutely perfect for a couple of years but last week, out of nowhere, the devices (one at a time, sometimes a few, sometimes all) come up as disconnected/offline. They are all plugged in for power. Sometimes when I unplug and plug in again… they reconnect. Sometimes they do not. The actual internet connection also disappears sometimes for 5 - 15 mins or so. I know it’s not my ISP connection because I can still connect to the ISP router which never loses connection. It’s the Google Home system where the points and/or the Nest router fail. I haven’t done a factory reset yet but powering on and off the Nest Router and the ISP router makes no difference.
I would really appreciate any steers on how to resolve as the household (lots of applicances connected) is collapsing without it working!!! I’d also restate that I am a complete Newb when it comes to tech. I have tried the Troubleshooter but as the internet does sometime works… it keeps saying the issue is resolved as I get the internet via Nest temporarily.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
Harry

Here Google say to keep the network at 5 devices or below https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7182840?hl=en-GB#:~:text=Maximum%20number%20of%20Wifi%2....

Thanks for the advice. I’ve removed 4 of the points and still not made any difference.

Hi Wuzzlerfish,
That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have and thank you for doing some troubleshooting steps. It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:
If the issue persists, you can revert your Nest point back to its original state by doing a soft reset. Follow the steps:
Note: If you reset a point from the app, it'll delete all settings and data from your point, Cloud services, and the Google Home app. It'll also remove that Wifi device from your Google Account.
To do a hard reset:
Once done, set it up again and monitor if the behavior persists.
Thanks for helping, Gashead!
Best,
Dan
