Hello all!
I have an outside building that I want wifi to that is about 100 feet away from my house. I buried Cat6 out to the building from my house. I want to wire a TP-Link access point to my Google nest router. Has anyone done this, I didn't locate it in the search.
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It's not uncommon and will work, but probably not recommended. If you're looking at Nest Wifi points that don't have ethernet ports, know that you can use the older Google Wifi points, which do have ethernet ports, as additional points in a Nest Wifi network. You'll lose some of the speed, range, and throughput benefits of the newer Nest Wifi units, but can't see that being a problem in this case.
If you still decide to use a third party router, you'll end up with two different Wi-Fi networks and will need to manually switch between them, unless you make the Wi-Fi network name and password identical. Given the distance you've described, that probably isn't an issue. To avoid issues, you will want to go into the Google Home app and add a DHCP reservation for the third party router to avoid any other devices being issued the IP address assigned to the router.

Hello meverett,
Thanks as well for the update. Which part in @davidking’s reply do you need more help with? Were you able to check out the link he shared regarding DHCP IP reservation? I’ll wait for your reply.
Best,
Abi
