Google WiFi router disables my ISP wifi

Shawfield

Every time I connect my first ( of 3 ) Google WiFi points via the home app, it disables my ISP router WiFi and gives an error message  " not possible with current security settings ". As soon as I unplug my Google router, the ISP WiFi re-establishes itself immediately.

Something to do with IP address ?

Hi Shawfield,

Thank you for posting in the community. I understand you're having trouble connecting one of your three Nest WiFi Points to the Google Home app. It seems your ISP router is getting disabled and you're seeing an error message, "not possible with current security settings". I'm happy to help.

For better assistance, please respond to the following questions:

  • When did the situation start?
  • Do you have a Google WiFi router and the ISP router?
  • What type of Nest WiFi router do you have? (Here is a helpful article to identify the model of Nest WiFi).
  • Are there any installed antivirus, security, or firewall into your ISP router?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you taken so far?

Please keep me posted on your findings.

Regards,

Byron
