HI All,
Strange issue that has not been resolved by Google support nor waiting for Firmware updates. For the record Google support simply just got me to reset all my Google Wifi devices to factory defaults thinking that would fix everything...(as someone that works in IT i was not overly impressed with this as I had done this already and informed them as such)
I'm in Australia on FTTP, Aussie Broadband 250d/25u, overall my internet speeds are great, and all wired devices (connected via a Gigabit switch that is connected to the Ethernet port on the Base Wifi Point) work really well, no issues.
However Wireless devices not so much...
Intermittently all Wireless devices will randomly just start syncing at 6Mbps Upload (bits not bites), Download speeds will always be fine. This will happens on all kinds of devices (Pixel 7 Pro, Latest iPad, Galaxy S21 Ultra...) only way to resolve is to either restart the network OR turn off and on the wifi on the devices.
I have the Base unit and two points.
I have put the ISP Supplied Netcomm NF20MESH Wifi 6 router in its place and I dont see these issues, however already have the 3 pack Google Wifi kit that I would like to continue using it, especially as just the ISP unit does not give enough Wifi coverage.
These issues look similar to this post: https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Nest-Wifi/Slow-upload-speeds-Nest-Wifi/m-p/133390

Are your nodes hardwired to each other, or is it a proper wireless mesh setup? If the latter, how's the connection strength between them? The low wireless speeds you've mentioned, is that while connected to the main node or the satellites (depending on a variety if factors, a low throughput may be experienced while connected to a satellite which is wirelessly connected to the main node)?
Assuming you've gone through the above, you might want to factory reset your network and do your speed test with the default settings in place; see if it makes any difference. Been using my Google Wifi system for the past 5 years with no issues at all. It could have to do with failing hardware, maybe.

Yeah fair questions, I meant to clarify this in my original post but forgot.
Its a wireless mesh system, the Satellites in my kit have no way of being hardwired anyway.
Their connectivity always shows as good.
The 6Mbps I reference is actually the Sync speed, so even if the throughput was a bit lower but at the standard Sync speeds I would not care, but the devices only Sync at 6Mbps. This is with the main nodes and satellites.
I've already tried factory reset and default settings.
To be clear my ISP uses Dynamic IP settings not PPPoE

Hi there adamb1441,
Thanks for posting in our community.
It looks like you've been doing a great job trying to get your Wi-Fi back on track. Here are a few more things you can try:
You can also try changing the DNS settings on your devices. A different DNS setting may improve your performance.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.

Hi
1. All cables are CAT6, and as I already mentioned I have no issues with Wired devices, only wireless.
2.i struggle to understand how that would affect speeds, as if I had it in the wrong ports my internet would not work at all... Also Google Nest WiFi points only connect via wireless not ethernet.
3.this also makes no sense, if interference was the issue surely I would experience the issues with the ISP provided Netcomm router as well, which as above I don't.( same amount of devices, same cables...)
I've tried setting DNS to custom and ISP, as mentioned above though it's got nothing to do with DNS as it's only Wireless SYNC Upload speeds to the Google WiFi from Wireless devices (already mentioned above), when conducting speed tests within the Google home app for the WiFi, speeds are fine, same with doing speed tests on WIRED devices.
ONLY WIRELESS devices suffering with a low Sync Upload speed get low upload speeds during a speedtest, download is fine.

Hi adamb1441,
Thanks for getting back to me.
To get a clearer picture of what might be causing the slower wireless speeds on your devices, it would be helpful to gather additional information about your router. Doing so will allow me to narrow down the potential culprits.
If you could take a moment to fill out this form, that would be fantastic. Be sure to include your thread and username for easy reference. Once you've completed the form, just let me know, and someone from my team will reach out to you so we can pinpoint the cause and get your internet running at optimal speed.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Angel.
