Google assistant on nest wifi won’t play Spotify through Sonos soundbar

Hi all,

I currently have the google nest wifi and my sonos beam soundbar in the living room. Since both have google assistant features I have decided to mute the microphone of my soundbar and use the voice command through the nest wifi instead.

However when I ask google assistant to play music on Spotify (whereby the default speaker is the soundbar) it comes up with the following message

“Sorry it looks like the account of this media service provider doesn’t match to play from the media service provider. Please set up the same account on the google assistant and the device”

Im 99% sure I have done everything correctly but seem to get the same issue. Anyone experienced this before?

Sorry about the struggles you're having with the music playback. I imagine that's frustrating to try and sort out. Let's see what we can figure out here.

• Are you using WiFi out bluetooth connection for the soundbar?
• Do you have the soundbar added to any speaker groups, or is it being used on its own?
• If you add the soundbar to a group, does it behave the same way with the Assistant?
• Do you have a default music provider set up in the Home app that is different than Spotify?
