We previously had xfinity and google wifi router wired to their modem. There were 2 additional points that created a mesh network. We recently changed to sonic fiber and they installed the modem so it connects to a cat 5 port in our house which the google wifi router is wired to. The router showed as offline in the Google home app and the two points showed as weak signal. The installer then connected the router back into another port which is wired to a switch and activated to ports for that switch so we could hardwire the two points. The wifi works fine but they still show as offline in Google home. We have some areas with thick walls so wanted to add a few more Google wifi points so we could extend the coverage. Because Google home thinks everything is offline I can't connect the additional points. I've tried removing the wiring to see if we could do all mesh but it still shows offline. Any tips for how I can make this work? We don't have cat 5 in the areas where we want to put the additional points so that isn't an option.

Thanks for checking. It didn't seem to work, but I ended up unplugging the three old wifi points and doing a factory reset. I was then able to install the three new ones to create a new mesh network. Then I added the old wifi points to the new mesh network. Coverage is still a bit weak in some areas even with the three new points so may experiment with trying to connect some points using ethernet again when I have time.

Hi, Lolitaw.
Sorry to hear that the first wave of troubleshooting didn't work out. Have you had a chance to try things with the ethernet connected?
