I have a nest point to set up in my bedroom. Do I have to do anything other than plug it in to get it access to the WiFi?

Hi, Lori Nault.

Thanks for reaching out the community. I would be happy to help you get that additional point set up. The instructions for adding an additional point to network are below.

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app
  2. Tap Add   Set up device  New device.
  3. If prompted, choose a home.
  4. Select the device you would like to set up as a point  Next.
  5. Scan the QR code on the bottom of your device.
    • Hold your phone about 5 inches (12 cm) away to scan. More tips for scanning QR codes.
    • If you’re unable to scan the QR code, tap Continue without scanning, then enter the setup key on the bottom of your device.
  6. Your point will now connect. For Nest Wifi points, when a sound plays from your speaker, tap Yes
  7. Follow the in-app instructions to finish setup.
  8. If you’d like to add another point, tap Yes in the app when prompted or repeat these steps at a later time for additional points.
  9. Once you’ve added all of your Wifi devices, the app will perform a mesh test to confirm everything is working.

If you have any issues getting the point set up, please come back and let me know and we can troubleshoot things together. Thanks.

Hey, Lori.

I’m just checking in real quick to see if we needed anything else here or if we were able to resolve the problem. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do here.

Thanks

Hi, everyone.

As we haven't had any activity here recently I'm going to go ahead and close the thread. If you have more to add, feel free to start a new discussion.

Thanks
