Nest Wifi only supports following WAN types:

The internet connection must be provided to it through an ethernet cable.

Nest Wifi can't wirelessly extend other Wi-Fi systems.

As long as the ISP can confirm that their modem/equipment works with third part routers you should be good.

If your ISP box is a router and access point too it's recommended to put it in bridge mode, to avoid double NAT. More on that:
