Mixing nest and google wifi hardware. Home app not working.

I’ve been dreading this day for a while.  I had (well have) 2 google mesh wifi points that worked flawlessly for years.  Now i need more coverage so i bought the nest wifi 2 pack.  Now the wifi app i know is gone, the Google Home app seems to have attempted migrating my info in, but is clearly not working because it says my network is offline when it is not.  Is there a guide or playbook on how to reboot the network out of the home app with the new nest puck as my primary point and a mix of new and old mesh points?

You are going to want to use the Nest router as the network master.

On your Google WiFi AP's, do a factory reset in the Google Home app and then take them offline. Then do this for the AP acting as the router. Install and initialize the Nest router, then the Nest AP and then the Google WiFi AP's.

As you are probably well aware, Google discontinued the Google WiFi app and folded its functionality into the Home app. We can expect to see the usability of the Home app get even better as it is the hub of Google's smart home technology.

One oddity I encountered with the Home app was during setup of my AP's. Before finalizing the mesh connection, I got errors saying it could not perform the connection. I backed out the error screen and it finished without a hitch. Might be an issue due to having wired backhaul but hopefully Google fixes it soon.

I just picked up the Google Nest Wifi 2 pack this afternoon, and added a Google Wifi AP just a few minutes ago.  You may need to reconfigure(delete) your setup and have your new Nest AP as your main router, then set up the rest as access points.
