My home's nest wifi seems to be issuing duplicate IP addresses for devices on the mesh network. The house network has an ISP-provided modem, wired to a main Google Nest node, meshed with two other nodes throughout the home. A notable potential area of concern is an additional 2.4 GHz TP-Link wifi-extender wirelessly connected to a mesh node (with SSID hidden).
Most devices in our home are connected to the network and stay connected with no issues; however, new devices trying to connect (e.g. Xbox One, MacBook Pros, specifically) cannot connect, with error codes stating "this IP address is being used by another device on the network." Upon switching to the guest network provided by the Nest wifi on these same devices, there are no connectivity issues. We typically have ~25 devices in active use on the network.
For context, I have attempted to utilize a tool like Network Shark to isolate a Rogue DHCP (courtesy of @Soss), but have limited experience with DHCP optimization and resolution. I have also tried issuing static IP addresses to these problematic devices, and shifting device-specific DHCP settings, to no avail. Enabling IPv6 on the network did not resolve the problem. Restarts and complete disconnects, of course, were of no help either,
Am I correct to assume this is a DHCP issue? Any ideas on actions to take? Is the 2.4 GHz extender from the mesh a potential root? The problem is causing frustration throughout the house. I appreciate your help.
