Hi all,
We recently did an addition to our home and now I have Cat 6 cables running to all rooms where I need connectivity (3 level home). I'm currently using Google AC1200 Wifi routers in a mesh configuration with an Arris cable modem. With the remodel, I now have a Netgear unmanaged switch in the basement with ethernet connections to rooms. I'd like to use a traditional router to do the routing and use the Google pucks only as WiFi access points. Is this possible? Can I factory reset the Google pucks and configure them as APs only? How would I configure the wifi APs?
Here's my proposed scheme: ISP -> Arris Cable Modem -> Microtik 5 port Gigabit router -> Ethernet Jack Room 1 -> Google Wifi Puck 1 // Ethernet Jack Room 2 -> Google Wifi Puck 2 // Ethernet Jack Room 3 -> Google Wifi Puck 3.
The Google pucks (this was before they were called Nest) all have WAN and LAN ports.
Thank you!

Not the answer I was looking for, but I guess the Google pucks cannot simply act as APs and perform wireless handoffs seamlessly.
You can close this thread if you want to.
