Nest wifi

My husband deleted the Google Home app from his phone and somehow took down our entire Nest system. I don’t know exactly what he did, but our router and point are no longer connected and when I try to run connection set up, it says it cannot connect. Anyone have any ideas what could be going on or how I can fix this??

Make sure all Nest Wifi pucks are factory reset and ready for adoption (LED pulses slow white):

And since you've tagged iOS, some general tips:

Make sure you have no VPN enabled/ connected; not any 3rd party product, nor the "Apple iCloud Private Relay".

Make sure the Google Home app has permissions to "local network access".

@Erinp

By itself, deleting the Google Home app should not have any effect at all on your Google Nest "home". If your husband re-installs the app and logs on with his credentials, everything should be the same unless something else was done.

If you think you did not make any changes, you could just try briefly unplugging your Wi-Fi points for say 30 seconds to restart them, and see if this resolves the issue.

If you have an idea of what changes might have been made, you could post those actions here and see if the community has suggestions. Or you could try contacting Google Nest Support starting with this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp?hl=en

So far the above solutions haven’t worked. I feel like he must have removed the devices before deleting the app, because I can’t see any other way he took them down completely. Nothing I do, seems to get them to reconnect. They are slow blinking white that they are ready to connect, my phone finds them, I use the QR code to continue the process and the router still doesn’t connect to the wifi…

@Erinp

I don't have a lot of familiarity with Google Nest Wi-Fi devices, having set them up just once for a family member.

You could try this trouble-shooting page: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6250834?hl=en

Or contact Google Nest Support.
