OnHub after December

Lop

Hi,

i just read that after December with my Onhub I will not be able to « add additional Wifi devices » . What does that mean ? If I get anew device after December and i enter the SSID and password, will it get an IP address, yes or no.

Thanks

Hello @Lop

I suspect they may mean you won't be able to add additional access point devices (e.g., Google WiFi or OnHub units). Client devices should still connect if they have the password.

Hey Lop,

What MichaelP said is correct. The OnHub devices will function and provide a wireless signal, but they won't be manageable through the Home app. If you have your system set up with OnHub devices, they'll still function as normal, but you wont' be able to add new points or change settings. Let me know if you had any other questions.

Thanks,

Jeff

Thanks a lot for your answer. So I think I will keep my Onhub for the time being, I will not really miss the updates (the last one was october 2019, the support was nearly drop three years ago) . I will wait to see what will add the Google wifi pro, I am not in a hurry, the Onhub serve me very well all these years in giving very good wifi in my quite large house.

Thanks Jhonleanmel, you provide the answer for my question. Now I will see for the replacement , but not in a hurry as my Onhub will still provide wifi in my big house ( it is more powerful than the google wifi device)
