Port Forwarding

Hi,

Twice I was able to add a couple of Port Forwarding rules and was working fine before when I went to check, the status shows Not Available after a day or two. I was able to create them again, was able to use the settings (WakeOnLan and RDP) before I checked again today and not working. Why can it not be kept intact without being a problem almost daily??

Ok, embarrassingly it was because the home desktop was not powered on, so of course as soon as it was, I could then see the port forwarding rules active again. Still it doesn't help if I need to turn it on remotely using WakeOnLAN and RDP like a day later if it's not available but works within a few hours of the desktop being turned off. I work remotely quite often and it would be useful to keep the port forwarding rules active at all times, I'm not comfortable keeping the desktop powered on 24/7. Any other possible workaround anyone? Tia.

Thanks for letting us know what was causing the problem. I'm glad that it wasn't a hardware issue or a bug. We'll keep this thread open for a few more days instead of marking it resolved to see if the community has any input on that workaround you asked about.
