Power Nest Wifi router by PoE only

Does the wifi hub have to be powered by the mains connector or will it work by PoE only? Thanks

It needs a barrel plug power connector matching the specs of the supplied power adapter. But there exists things like PoE splitters. Example/ inspiration:
