Removing Google wifi units from my GoogleHome App

I have 3 Google wifi units, that have long been tossed out, still showing up on my Google Home App.  Factory Resetting doesn’t remove them since I don’t have the physical units anymore.  How can I clear these from my app?

Hi @SimiAnderson

You should be able to delete them from the app:

  1. In the Google Home app, on the "Home" tab, tap the tile icon next to "Favourites" at the top.
  2. Scroll to the Google Wifi device that was connected to your modem, then long press and hold on the device tile.
  3. Tap the settings cog at the top right.
  4. Scroll down and tap "Factory reset network".

David, I’ve tried this a few times but it doesn’t work.  The devices are still there in grey.

So you don't have those options if you long press and hold on the device tile?

There are some other ways of removing devices you can check:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Settings.
  • Tap the arrow next to Devices, groups and rooms.
  • Tap the room the device was assigned to.
  • Tap the device.
  • Tap Remove device.

If those steps don't work, try these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap your photo or initials at the top right.
  3. Tap Assistant settings.
  4. Tap Devices.
  5. Tap the device.
  6. Tap Unlink this device.
