I just had fiber installed in my home. They supplied me with a Google Wifi GJ2CQ as a router and are charging me $15/month for it. I went out and bought my own identical router to replace theirs with so I can drop the extra $15/month "rental" fee.
I unplugged their equipment and plugged mine in. I can recognize the device and start the setup process from Google Home on my phone, but the Google Wifi will not connect to the internet. Setup keeps saying that something went wrong.
I feel like I need to get into the Google Wifi settings and change an IP address or a WAN setting to get it to be able to connect to the Nokia ONT, but I am not sure how to do that.
Does anyone have any insight into this? Any help is appreciated!

Did you factory reset your existing network before trying to set up your new puck to your Google Home home? If no: You have to do that first, the main puck can't be replaced without factory reset of the whole Google Home home network.

I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw olavrb's reply and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping.

I saw the advice and will try it out this weekend. I am a little intimidated, because once I do a factory reset, there is no turning back, and if I can't get it sorted, I will be without internet entirely. I am trying to avoid that at all costs.

I understand, jefherron.
When you get a chance to try it out, let us know how it goes. I understand the hesitation. If you run into troubles, definitely let us know.
Thanks.

The factory reset worked like a dream. I had exactly zero issues, but I wanted to wait and make sure I wasn't without internet. Thanks to everyone who chimed in with help and support. I am glad I know about this group now!
