Restrict connection to specific devices

Blaythe
Community Member

Hello,

Is there any way for me to choose or have a list of allowed devices (by MAC or IP) be able to connect to my main wireless network?  Currently, I am adding any unknown device to the family group where access is paused from midnight to 11:59pm.

Thanks,

Blaythe

Hello @Blaythe,

Thanks for posting in the community.
I understand the desire to have more granular control over the devices accessing your home network. While Google Nest WiFi doesn't currently offer a built-in feature to create a whitelist of allowed devices based on MAC or IP addresses, there is a way you can try.

  • Guest Network:
  • Create a separate network. Set up a guest network with limited access and password protection.
  • Restrict Access: Allow only trusted devices to connect to your main network.

You can create it on your own, or you can check out this link to learn how to do it: Create, edit, and share a guest Wi-Fi network.

Please let me know how it goes. Thank you.

Regards,
Jorge
