Just tried upgrading my old Google WiFi router to the new Nest WiFi Pro with FIOS as my internet-only provider. Router is directly connected to the ONT via ethernet cable for a simple network, no moca or switches involved.
Steps taken:
Reset old Google WiFi router via iOS Google Home app (setup old Google WiFi years ago, has worked flawlessly)
Unplugged & Disconnected old router from ONT (I-211m-k) - waited a few minutes after app said could take up to 5 minutes, then unplugged it, maybe I didn't wait long enough?
Hooked-up new Nest WiFi Pro to ONT & powered on
Waited for router to blink blue
Followed the steps in Google Home to add new device (add new device to home, Nest Wifi router found, scanned QCode)
Failure occurred on the Connecting to Wi-Fi step. "Connection failed Couldn't connect to device. Try again or tap help for more solutions"
Retried numerous times using different WiFi PRO, factory resets, unplug/replug, installing old Google WiFi, unplugging FIOS ONT and waiting 15 minutes, etc.
At this point, I am unable to successfully setup either of the old or new routers.
Any ideas on what to try next?
Appreciate any help.

I had the same issue when seeing up the WiFi pro. I ended up getting it to work by manually connecting to the SSID the WiFi pro uses by default. You should see it in the list of available SSIDs and it's printed on the bottom of the device along with the password. Once I connected I was able to finish the setup. Hopefully that helps solve your problem as well.

@Grum Thanks, this helped, my brain was stuck on what to try next. I followed your suggestion but with a twist which I have no idea why it worked. Just glad to have WiFi back so can watch Phillies game tonight!
@Jason86 Here are the details of what finally worked for me:
There was something wonky when using Google Home app on my iPhone 13 Pro. iPhone recognized the wifi connection but Google Home App did not. After numerous attempts at forgetting the connection in iPhone Setup and using Google Home, finally retried using an old iPad and instead of using QCode scan, manually typed in password on bottom of Wifi Pro and then setup was a breeze, including setup of all 3 routers included. Not sure why this happened but glad not a FIOS issue, gave away old FIOS router years ago and don't remember the details of setting up the original Google WiFi.

I am not having the same luck. Tried adjusting the router settings and have tried manually and nothing is working. Same issue, when connecting main wifi router to my home router - no problems. When connecting wifi points it says no connection. NEED HELP!

Hi mroach6288,
A few questions: are you using a modem/router combo from your Internet Service Provider (ISP)? What device are you using to set up your network (iOS or Android)? Are you setting up Google Wifi or Google Nest WIfi? Also, do you have Internet from your modem?
Give these steps a try:
Let us know how it goes.
Best,
Mel

I have tried all of this except installing with a different device. Unfortunately, I do not have that option. I have had no issues in the past with any google wifi products until this one and it seems im not alone.

Hi mroach6288,
Thanks for the update. To confirm, are you adding an additional Google Nest Wifi Pro into your network and this is where you're having issues?
Best,
Mel
