Separate 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands on Nest WiFi

Like everyone else my smart devices require 2.4 band for setup. Please separate control of the bands. Thank You.

Hi awwbaker,

Sorry to see that you're having issues getting some of your smart devices set up. By nature of how the mesh network functions, both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands run simultaneously at all times. There's no option for disabling either band. For some devices, they struggle to connect when both bands are present. One common workaround is to move to the outer edges of your network and try connecting your devices there. Since 2.4GHz has as higher range than 5GHz, often only the 2.4GHz band will be visible at the extreme edges of your mesh signal. Once connected, you can move your devices to where they will be used and they should connect normally.

Let me know if you have any additional questions or if that solution doesn't work out for you and we can look at other options.

Thanks,

Jeff
