Steps to reset Nest and connect to Virgin router

LSweet
Community Member

I have a system that has:

virgin router

Nest wifi router

nest wifi point

this means there are two networks set up.

I want to adjust the system so that the virgin router becomes a modem and is connected to the cable tv only.

Then, the Google system runs the wifi network.

What steps do I need to take to reset the Google devices and start again?  I’m conscious that I need to do this in the right order so that I don’t break everything.

To reset your router and points:
Factory reset your Wifi device - Google Nest Help

The quickest option is to use the factory reset network option in the Home app. Open the Home app > Wi-Fi > Settings cog > Factory reset network > OK.

Check which model of Virgin router you have, as some of them can be put in bridge mode (I think they call it modem mode): Bridge mode - Google Nest Help

Once your Virgin router is in modem mode, retry setup of your Nest Wifi network.
